TWIR: Crews responded to numerous accidents during the week. This accident occurred at the Pedestrian Walkway between Human Services and the Wawa on Woodlane Road. Remember to keep your eyes on the road and off the many distractions we attempt to do while driving! www.facebook.com/WTES27/posts/939033606117504:0
During the past two weeks we have had the opportunity to do training in the soon to be demolished Mount Holly Gardens. Crews have gone over multiple times to practice engine and ladder placement, roof operations, search and rescue, wall breaching, hoseline advancements among other drills. Giving firefighters an opportunity to train outside the familiar local fire academy. We have been visited by many newspaper reporters and news reporters to get a glimpse of this real life training. www.facebook.com/WTES27/posts/939445159409682 www.facebook.com/WTES27/posts/939520139402184 www.facebook.com/WTES27/posts/939774236043441 www.facebook.com/WTES27/posts/939819116038953 www.facebook.com/WTES27/videos/939914326029432 www.facebook.com/WTES27/videos/940073386013526 www.facebook.com/WTES27/posts/940182599335938
For the second week in a row we were notified that we received a Federal Grant. This grant, the SAFER grant will allow us to hire three (3) additional Firefighters. More to come on this in the near future.
Each year we get the opportunity to go to the elementary school to make a slip and slide for the kids at summer camp! It is always a great time for all and specially this year in the heat! www.facebook.com/WTES27/posts/940659795954885:0
Crews also responded to numerous other incidents including EMS, Fire and a HAZMAT call.
